Are flowers kept in an earn or in an urn? Is effect a noun or a verb? Is an offensive word an affront or an effrontery? Which one is a number, ate or eight? If you were going in for surgery, would you be knocked out with ether or either?

Have you ever heard anyone say that he is sweating like a pig? What goes through your mind when you hear this said? Do you picture Porky Pig roasting out in the sun with a headband on to catch the sweat before it drips into his eyes?

Is there a drove of pigs in your story? Do you have room for a farrow of piglets? Or maybe your story has been invaded by a sounder of wild boars.

The judge is going to garnish your wages. Is he going to decorate them, or is he going to withhold them? You are going to lease an apartment. Are you going to pay money to live there, or is someone going to give you money so he can live there?

Have you ever been caught out in fog so thick you could not see your hand in front of your face? Or maybe you were driving and the fog was so thick you could barely see where you were going. There are some people who would be terrified by either situation.
