Doodle Monsters Sticker Doodle Do by Sarah Powell

This is such a fun book for ages 5 and up. Watching my 5 year old granddaughter become engaged with it I really felt it encouraged her imagination and inspired creativity. The sticker fun really helps children work with their fine motor skills.

It is full of colorful pages with lots of creative opportunities. There is no need to start at the front and work through the book, it is appropriate to start anywhere in the book and work the pages in any order as inspiration hits.

Some of the fun drawing and sticker pages include:
• Doodle in frames to make your own art gallery
• Fill in the cupboard with yummy foods
• Doodle tricky patterns
• Drawing strips on candy canes
• Add patterns to party banners
• Doodle patterns on butterflies
• Turn paperclips into people
• Drawing nail designs
• Decorating ice-cream with sparkles
• Puppy playtime – add toys to the puppies
• Use stickers to add hats, helmets, & sunglasses to faces
• Fill the ocean with fishy friends

I think this would be a great book to give to any child who needs a quiet activity. It can easily be taken along on a trip- whether taking the train or plane there is opportunity and need to keep a child engaged and entertained. Or on the greyhound bus – a win-win situation for a long trip!

Do you have a car trip planned for vacation and no DVD player in the car? Take this book along- in fact you better buy one for each child so they can quietly create while you have peace and quiet as you drive.

This would also be great to take to a child in the hospital. I can just see a child sitting up in bed going through the pages while waiting to feel better. Or take it along to a doctor appointment to keep their minds off their minds whatever is coming next. Take this book to church to keep your little ones quiet so you can listen to the sermon. You could be the favorite aunt or uncle if you buy this book for your niece or nephew and then work with them on some of the pages.

Note: I bought this as a gift for a grandchild.
