Quick and Easy Paper Snack Bowls
You will need:
* 12 x 12 patterned paper
* Bone folder
* Hole punch
* Twist ties, baker’s twine or ribbon
With a ruler and pencil, mark each side of the paper at 4 inches and 8 inches, then score across the marks to the opposite side to form a grid with nine squares. Using the photo as a guide, cut along the two top vertical lines stopping at the corners of the center square, then repeat with the two bottom vertical lines.
Make valley folds along the rest of the score lines with a bone folder: fold the top and bottom row of squares towards center and unfold, then fold and unfold the left and right column of squares towards the center. Fold the top middle square upward, then bring the top left and top right squares together so that their outer corners meet at a point (the middle flap should be inside the bowl).
Staple the three squares in place. Repeat with the bottom row of squares. You’re done!
Use a ruler and pencil to mark lines along the sides of the paper, 2-1/2 inches from the edge. Use a bone folder to score and valley fold along the lines. Without flattening the paper, bring two adjacent sides together at the corner to form an “ear”, then punch a hole through both sides near the score marks.
Thread a twist tie or piece of baker's twine through the holes, and secure with a couple of twists or knots respectively. Repeat with the rest of the corners. You’re done! Tip: if you’ve got time to spare, use washi tape twist ties for more color (instructions here).
