Diabetes
STRESS AND COVID

During these uncertain times, stress can make your blood sugar go up and it isn’t good for your help or sanity. If you are frustrated or your anxiety or blood sugar is up, now is a good time to find a way to relieve some stress.

Trying to find ways to relieve your stress is important. These past 6 months have seen upheaval in normal routines along with life in general.

What can you do to relieve your stress and anxiety in these uncertain times since diabetics are one of the high-risk groups?

During the lockdown I started a youtube channel, using my photographic and creative skills. I also learned some new skills like editing, filming among others. This directed my attention away from Covid, out of my comfort zone, and seemed to distract and make life more bearable.

My youtube channel is here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKgE8Ntwcax384RDY7LlJrg

Please feel free to look at it if you so desire.

So you say you aren’t creative and don’t think you can find a stress reliever. However, with technology, you can join a zoom book club, learn to knit among many other things.

With a browser, you will have plenty of free options to find a way to express yourself or relieve your stress. It might not be easy at first, but it will take your mind off of Covid and concentrate on other things.

If not a craft, you can find yoga classes, meditation classes, and lots of other offerings that are free. If you find out you don’t like it, you can move onto something else and feel no regrets.

Taking a daily walk, whether in your backyard, in your local neighborhood or at a neighboring park will help relieve your stress.
Now is a good time to catch up on all the reading you have been putting off. You will have plenty of time to read those books or try out new genres. Your local library is a good place to start. Amazon even has free kindle books to download so you won’t be out of any money.

Now is the time to explore yourself and things you have been wanting to try. Want to start cooking more or experimenting in the kitchen. Now is your chance. Take advantage of Covid and make it a positive experience to enrich your life and self-worth.

REMEMBER DON’T GUESS, TEST!
